A free trail running club built by two 9th graders — Kasper and Jackson — to help middle schoolers fall in love with running and prepare for the road ahead.
We're Kasper and Jackson — two 9th graders from Mill Valley who both ran in middle school and honestly felt kind of lost when high school came around. The jump from a casual middle school team to a real competitive program is bigger than people think.
We started Marin Miles because we wished something like this had existed for us. Every Sunday we take 6th, 7th, and 8th graders out on the trails, run with them, and help them actually get better — not just go through the motions.
Whether you've never raced before or you're already on your school's team, you're welcome here. No cost, no pressure.
Founded by Kasper & Jackson, 9th gradeWe know firsthand the beauty of running and also the complications that come with it. We're here to help you navigate and find the true meaning of running.
Learn how to run smarter, not just harder. We work on stride efficiency, breathing, and learning your own pace — skills that pay off in races and in life.
Cross country, track, mile runs — we help you understand race strategy, warm-up routines, and how to push through the hard parts of a race.
Whether you're just starting out or already on your school's team, we help you build consistent mileage and a training foundation that lasts.
We walk 8th graders through what to expect in high school running — tryouts, training volume, mental prep, and how to stand out on day one.
Every Sunday, 9:00–11:00 AM somewhere on the trails of Mill Valley, CA. We switch up the starting spot each week to keep things interesting — every location is a manageable, close distance from Mill Valley and MLK. You'll get the exact location in your confirmation email after signing up — always easy to reach from Mill Valley and MLK Middle School.
We show up, we warm up, we run. Kasper and Jackson are out there with you the whole time — we're not just standing around telling people what to do. Runs are grouped by pace so you're always with people at your level.
The trails around Marin are genuinely awesome. It doesn't feel like practice — it feels like an adventure with some structure to it.
Marin Miles is and always will be completely free to attend. Kasper and Jackson volunteer their time because they believe in what this club stands for — no strings attached.

☕ Tips are always welcome. We put a lot of time into planning routes, showing up every Sunday, and making sure every kid has a good experience. If you'd like to show appreciation, even a small tip via Venmo means a lot — but truly, no pressure at all.
We get it — two 9th graders running a club for your kid sounds unusual. We're not going to pretend it isn't. But here's the truth: we run alongside everyone the entire session, we plan every route in advance, and parents are always welcome to join and watch. We started this because we genuinely wanted to help — full stop.
We started this because we both went through middle school running and felt like there was nobody helping us get ready for high school. We just wanted to fix that for the kids coming up behind us.
No fees. No tryouts. No experience needed. Just a kid who wants to run.
